Media Relations

The Media Relations office is the liaison between the Office of the Sheriff, the media and the public. The Media Relations office receives thousands of calls and requests annually for interviews, feature articles, television show participation, statistical information and community event participation. The office interacts daily with television, radio and print media to ensure the most up to date and reliable information is released to the public.

The Media Relations Unit does not speak for the following operational units. News media representatives should contact these units directly.

    • Felony assaults where the victim’s death is probable
    • Adult kidnappings when victim is still believed to be held hostage
    • Shots fired at or by a Deputy Sheriff resulting in human injury
    • Missing adult cases unresolved by local detectives after 10 days
