Lieutenant/Inspectional Services Manager

Lieutenant David Gilmore joined the Sheriff's Department in 1997. He worked in the Detentions Bureau at the downtown jails prior to moving to patrol in 2001. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2008 and Lieutenant in 2011.

He has worked as the Sheriff's Traffic Coordinator, Regional Public Safety Academy Director at Miramar College, Vista Patrol Station, and as the Fallbrook Substation Commander. In January 2017, David was selected to return to the Office of the Sheriff and assume the post of Standards and Compliance Manager for the Division of Inspectional Services.

He graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting and has subsequently earned a Master's degree in Public Administration. He attended the FBI National Academy and graduated with class 261 in September of 2015.
