Services

The San Marcos Sheriff's Station is comprised of the following:

• Patrol Division - First responders to law enforcement calls for service.
• Traffic Division - Enforcement and investigations pertaining to traffic in the city of San Marcos (California Highway Patrol handles this function in the unincorporated areas).
• Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit (COPPS) - Devoted to problem solving within the community to effect continuous improvement in the quality of life.
• Investigations Division - Conducts follow-up investigations on criminal cases.
• The Professional Staff - Performs the myriad duties that allow the station to function administratively and assists the public with requests.
• Crime Prevention - Provides education to enhance public recognition of possible dangers and awareness of crime reduction measures.
• Reserve Program - Volunteer sworn peace officers.
• Senior Volunteer Patrol - Volunteer patrol and YANA services.
