WHAT'S NEW:
The City of Poway in conjunction with the Poway Fire Department recently graduated its first class of TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) Volunteers. Although the program has been around for years, several of the graduates will be of service in the City of Poway. These TIP volunteers assist the Fire Department and the Sheriff's Department by providing immediate emotional and practical support to survivors of tragic events.

While Fire and/or Sheriff's personnel attend to their responsibilities at the scene of a tragic event, TIP Volunteers provide assistance to those emotionally wounded such as family members, witnesses, and bystanders.

The TIP Volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, free of charge to the public. TIP Volunteers are summoned at the request of emergency personnel only.
