An interested
candidate must have completed a semester course in basic fingerprints
and be enrolled in or have completed a criminal justice program.
The interns will spend the majority of their time developing
and collecting latent fingerprints from evidence that has
been obtained in the course of a criminal investigation. After
working their cases, interns will be expected to write reports
and document their activities. While infrequent, courtroom
testimony is a possibility, and interns may be required to
respond to court and testify concerning their evidence examinations.
The latent print internship program is a commitment of a minimum
of six months where the candidates are expected to work a
minimum of sixteen hours per week. The position is non-paid.
