Keith Spears joined the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in
2000. He became the Sheriff’s Contracts Manager in May 2006.
He is responsible for all Revenue and Procurement
Contracts for the department.
Spears is the Contract Administrator for
the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Program that serves the cities of Del Mar,
Encinitas, Imperial Beach, Lemon Grove, Poway, Santee, Solana Beach, San
Marcos and Vista. He and his staff also administer revenue
agreements with the Superior Court, Del Mar Fair, North County Transit
District, and the Grossmont School District.
Spears and his staff are responsible for purchasing a
variety of items for the department including, helicopters, canines,
information technology services, products and safety equipment.
They work closely with the County Department of Purchasing and Contracting to
ensure a fair procurement process.
Prior to joining the department, Spears worked in various positions
for the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency.
Mr. Spears has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State
University at Chico.
