Services - Law Enforcement Functions

The Alpine Station covers approximately 95 square miles in eastern San Diego County, starting on the west side with the communities of Blossom Valley and Flinn Springs, we then head East to Harbison Canyon. If you continue east you'll end up in Alpine and then south into the communities of Dehesa and Crest. We also handle all law enforcement responsibilities for the Sycuan and Viejas Indian Reservations. This includes two casinos and the Viejas Outlet Center, the largest shopping center in Sheriff's jurisdiction.
Originally, the deputies that patrolled the Alpine area were headquartered at the Santee Station. Through a lot of effort and support in the community the Alpine Station was opened in 1984. The original compliment included one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, one detective and eight patrol deputies. Since then the communities we serve have expanded and so has the Station. The Alpine Station is now a major Sheriff's facility, commanded by a Sheriff's Captain.
