Once this form is completed it will be processed. This process can take between 1 - 2 business days before the report is released.

There is a fee of $20.00 for a copy of each report. Persons listed as a suspect in a crime report may purchase only the first page of the report for a fee of $20.00. All victim information will be removed.

Can I go on a ride-a-long with deputies?

At the present time, the Sheriff's Department does not have a citizen ride-a-long program.

Why don't deputies arrest undocumented workers?

Deputies do not have the authority to enforce the immigration laws that these individuals are violating. Only the U.S. Border Patrol has the authority.

Why don't some individuals go to jail after they have been arrested?

Because of jail overcrowding, only violators of more serious crimes are actually booked into jail. Many individuals will be issued a citation after they have signed it, promising to appear in court at a later date.

I have a question for a deputy. Can I call 911 for this?

911 is for emergencies only. The Sheriff's Department realizes that phone lines are frequently busy. Calling 911 for non-emergencies ties up a line that may not allow an actual emergency to be received at the communication center. For routine information, call the Alpine Sheriff's Station during normal business hours or the Sheriff's non-emergency (858) 565-5200.
