Community Service
Officers are unarmed, uniformed personnel who perform a variety of duties.
By performing many of the more routine, non-emergency and report writing
duties, patrol deputies are available to respond to emergency calls
and make arrests.

- Walk/check local
parks
- Open and close
local parks

- Take reports
in person and by phone
- Write parking
citations and warnings
Report writing for:
- Annoying phone
calls
- Stolen Vehicles
- Barking dogs
- Vehicle burglary
- Grand Theft
- Petty Theft
- Vandalism
- Tampering with
Vehicle
- Pick up found
property or evidence (bicycles, tools etc) for deputies
- Lay flare patterns
at accidents
- Remove obstacles/hazards
from streets
- Drive streets
checking for parked vehicle violations, registration, etc.
- Write warnings
and Parking Citations
- Order vehicle
tows
- Computer input
(keyboarding)
- Respond to complaints
of found dead animals
- Transport citizens,
children for deputies
- Staff Sheriff
Storefront (Help the Public, take counter and phone reports)
- Missing persons
or children
- Minor accidents
Traffic trained CSOs will also take reports of
- Minor accidents
- Non injury hit
and run accidents
CSO's do not take:
- Emergency calls
- Fraud reports
- Commercial or
Residential burglaries
