"Oh,
I know exactly what to do if a stranger comes up to me".
That's what
Simon the Bloodhound says until he is put to the test. This 30 min.
interactive puppet show tests Simon's "stranger smarts"
on how to deal with an unfamiliar person that might offer candy,
ask for directions or invite a car ride. It's a subject kids hear
often. But when they see Simon having trouble remembering the rules
of safety, it's easy for them to relate. Simon, and his handler,
San Diego Sheriff's Search and Rescue volunteer, Pam Medhurst, come
to schools, camps or anywhere kids gather to present a humorous
program that gets everyone involved. Kids will leave the program
having learned some valuable safety lessons. Simon was presented
a commendation from Lt. Governor Cruz M. Bustamante which he shares
with Pam. To bring Simon and Stranger Danger to your group call
the San Diego Search and Rescue office at 619-956-4990 or e-mail
Simon at DeputySimon@AOL.com. This free program works well with
children ages 4-10.
