Since
March of 1999 a staff of 10 Senior Volunteers began duties out of the
Pine Valley Station. These volunteers also provide services to the Julian
and Campo substations as time and manpower constraints permit. The Senior
Volunteers provide vacation home checks, YANA (You Are Not Alone) checks,
traffic control, citizen assists, and provide help to the Division with
patrol and crime prevention functions. It is hoped that we can expand
the Senior Volunteer program to more substations within the Division in
the future. |
