ADMINISTRATIVE
SECTION - Responsible for the management and oversight
of the Records & Identification Division are the Manager,
Steven J. Barard and his assistant managers, Angela Ellis
(Sheriff's Operations Supervisor-Cases/Warrants) and Deborah
Duncan (Sheriff's Operations Supervisor-Booking/CAL-ID). The
Administrative Section also consists of a Supply and Training
Coordinator, a Quality Control Coordinator, an administrative
clerk, and a mailroom clerk. Each of these positions plays
an important role in ensuring that the Division operates as
efficiently and effectively as possible. |

| BOOKING
SECTION - Responsible for processing all arrest/booking
records received from San Diego County Detention Facilities;
the recording and updating of criminal history information
in local computer systems; the submission of arrest information
for entry on "Rap Sheets" maintained by the State
and the FBI; the dissemination of confidential information
and documents to authorized agencies and members of the public;
and for processing criminal/civil subpoenas for Sheriff arrest
records. |

CAL-ID
SECTION - Responsible for the identification of in custody
inmates in San Diego County Detention Facilities utilizing
the Automated Fingerprint System; provides court testimony
regarding identifications; and responds to requests for verification
from law enforcement and government agencies. |

| CASES
SECTION - Responsible for maintaining Sheriff's
arrest/case reports; responds to inquiries from authorized
agencies as to copies of crime/arrest reports; performs
record sealings as mandated by court order; purges records
in accordance with Department policy and State law;
provides copies of reports to authorized persons; and
enters data from Sheriff criminal reports into local
database. |

WARRANT
SECTION - The Warrant Section serves as the central
repository for all warrants of arrest and Temporary
Restraining Orders for the County of San Diego; provides
up-to-date information to the public and law enforcement
agencies through the use of the Want/Warrant computer
system; and is responsible for the entry of missing
persons into the Missing and Unidentified Person System
on all reports which are generated in the Sheriff's
jurisdiction. |
