Senior Volunteer Patrol
Volunteers at work The San Diego County Sheriff's Senior Volunteer Patrol program is designed to draw upon the experience of senior citizens from our community. The men and women participating in the Lemon Grove Station's program provide valuable assistance to existing staff as they strive to improve the quality of life within the community.

SERVICES AVAILABLE
Among the Volunteer Patrol's services available at no cost to residents of Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Casa de Oro, Mt. Helix, Rancho San Diego, Jamul, Unincorporated La Mesa & El Cajon are:

  • HOME VACATION CHECKS: The Patrol will check your home regularly while you are away on vacation, providing you with peace of mind knowing that trained personnel are checking your home.
  • YOU ARE NOT ALONE: The Department's YANA ("You Are Not Alone") program ensures a weekly personal visit from a Volunteer Patrol team plus a daily telephone call to disabled or homebound senior citizens living by themselves.
  • ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT: the Volunteers conduct these programs. Contact the SVP to help rid your neighborhood of vehicles that have not been moved for some time.
  • AN ALZHEIMER'S DIRECTORY is maintained at the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Station. Volunteer personnel will come to your residence and take a photograph and description of your loved one.
