Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (C.O.P.P.S.)

The Lemon Grove COPPS Sergeant supervises 7 COPPS Deputies and 1 Civilian Secretary, and coordinates the storefront office located at 531 Sweetwater Rd. Spring Valley. The office was established for the COPPS Deputies to work from and promote community interaction. We all work towards the problem solving effort in the Spring Valley and Lemon Grove area. We utilize the problem solving philosophy when working on community projects, preparing reports, and making statistical analysis to identify crime trends in the community.

The COPPS Unit also utilizes the (S.A.R.A.) model to identify problems and solutions to the problems in our area of responsibility. We support our communities with our community policing efforts within the department by helping make resources available to the community. This should help make our partnership stronger and allow us the freedom to experiment with new ideas.

The Spring Valley COPPS Unit has been committed to improving the quality of law enforcement within the Lemon Grove Command. The following is a list of projects that exemplifies the COPPS Unit commitment to the community:
